Debbie Sutton is the principle of Sutton School of Dance Norwich. The Northwich Dance School was founded in 1990 and with a lot of enthusiasm, hard work and talent, the school has continued to blossom. Debbie started Dancing at the age of 3 studying under a leading Examiner of the N.A.T.D board. After gaining her teaching qualifications in N.A.T.D Ballet, Modern Stage, National Tap, Line Dance and Ballroom, Debbie went on to Dance professionally. However, Debbie soon realised her true passion was in teaching, so after gaining experience teaching for other local schools, plucked up the courage to set up her own Dance School and has never looked back. With over 35 years of teaching experience Debbie has literally taught hundreds of children to dance, putting them through their N.A.T.D examinations (where she has never had a single student fail an exam.) Debbie’s knowledge of the syllabus and technique is remarkable, and with a supportive, progressive and relaxed teaching approach, it’s no wonder all the students here at Sutton School of Dance grow very fond of her.
Debbie encourages the older students to help with the younger classes. This gives the younger students clear examples of what they are working towards, along with being beneficial for the senior students as they have to make sure their technique is perfect and they are setting excellent examples. Debbie finds that having the older students help out gives the younger students something to look up to, giving the school a healthy, sociable and supportive atmosphere.
